Venice Film Festival
The Venice Film Festival takes place from 30th August - 9th September 2017
The oldest and one of the world's most prestigious international film festivals, Venice Film Festival or Venice International Film Festival and has taken place every year since 1932. The festival takes place in late August or early September on the island of the Lido, Venice, Italy, where screenings take place in the historic Palazzo del Cinema on the Lungomare Marconi and in other venues nearby. Films compete for the coveted Golden Lion prize, many of them world premieres, while others jostle for the attention of critics and audiences at an event that mixes adventurous fare from international auteurs with mainstream movies seeking award-season momentum.
