'Dumb and Dumber To', a succession of visual gags drags the toilet on a road trip to nowhere in a comedic time warp that's had its day.
Catatonic Lloyd (rubber face Jim Carrey) trusts Harry (Jeff Daniels). That's why he lets him visit his care home and change his nappies. Twenty years in the wheelchair but geese what, it's all a jape, a got-you-joke and Harry's fallen for it. It can only be wrench out the catheter and get out of there.
More surprises. Harry's a dad and has a grown up daughter Penny(Rachel Melvin) who was put up for adoption by his long-lost love Fraida Felcher (Kathleen Turner) and her step father's a scientific genius who's come up with a billion dollar idea. It's hit the road to El Paso, throw in what may be called outrageous physical comedy, chuck sanity away and pretend that it's funny, even hilarious. Nappy changes, farting, a cat high on drugs swinging from a chandelier, embalming fluid's a favourite tipple and eat a hot dog smothered in mustard, it's all in part of our likeable nutters road movie to nowhere.
Actually I did laugh at some of it. Not much, just a bit. It's dumb and even dumber. Perhaps it is the end of the road.
