'An unconventional love story that's a clever, gripping and stylish thriller'.
We meet the ‘Eastern Boys’, in a clever and compelling docu style sequence that shows a gang of East European adolescents cruising the shops and hustling the daily commuters in the Gard du Nord. Approaching the throng is affluent middle-aged Daniel (Olivier Rabourdin), who takes a shine to the enigmatic and handsome Marek (Kirill Emelyanov), awkwardly propositioning him for sex, and foolishly giving him his address for a meeting the next day. The trap's set and Marek arrives with his ‘Boss’ portrayed by Danil Vorobyov with an unnerving mix of charisma and menace, and his tribe of ‘Lost Boys’. The ‘Boss’ herds the gang into Daniel’s flat and along with Marek begins to ‘host’ their particular type of party.
An unusual and delicate love story. 'Eastern Boys' is ambitious and gripping with exceptional performances from Olivier Rabourdin and newcomer Kirill Emelyanov as their relationship moves from from sexual to almost paternal.
