'An enjoyable sci-fi family film.'

It's been three years since the giant alien robot invasion of earth. 10-year-old Connor (Milo Parker) lives with his widowed mother Kate (Gillian Anderson) and teenage Sean Flynn (Callan McAulifffe) who hasn't given up hope that his missing father Danny (Steven Mackintosh) who joined the Resistance might still be alive. If life isn't bad enough with the robots, collaborator Mr Smythe (Ben Kingsley) has designs on Kate and with all humans fitted with transmitters to ensure they obey the the robot empire and stay indoors at all times or be incinerated, Smythe enforces their will. When one of the transmitters short-circuits, Sean and his friends seize the opportunity to infiltrate their aliens.

An enjoyable family film with an impressively winning young cast. Probably more suited for a TV series than the big screen.
