US-Israeli director Rama Burshtein's follow up to 'Fill the Void' is a romantic comedy that offers a woman's slant on marriage in the Hasidic community.
When Michal's (Noa Koler) fiance Gidi (Erez Drigues) declares he doesn't love her and the marriage if off, a non-religious mother (Irit Sheleg) and a cynical sister (Dafi Alpern) aren't the best shoulders to cry on and it can only get worse. The marriage hall is booked for the 8th day of Hanukkah, the deposit has been paid to the owner Shimi (Amos Tamam) but there's no groom. It's time for a 'healer' and a marriage broker - with fish gall and intuition Hulda Koler (Odelia Morteh) removes the evil eye but prospective Hasidic grooms are a no go. Is independent, strong willed Michala too much to take on? All she wants is to be normal, respected and loved. And then two weeks later 'I don't love you' Gidi announces that he's marrying Ziva. Desperation's in the air and It's time to take a pilgrimage to the tomb of Rabbi Rebbe Nachman of Breslov in Uman, Ukraine, meet rock star, heart throb Yoss (Oz Zehavi) but there's no groom. Have faith, God will take care of it. Trust that it will work out.
