Was it a moment of madness that drew Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson into 'Trespass Against Us,' a story of a family of Irish travellers?

Home for the Cutler clan is a tatty caravan park in the West Country. Adam Cutler's (Michael Fassbender) manipulative father Colby (Brendan Gleeson), an inadequate bore and bigot rules the pack and isn't happy that Chad and his wife (Lyndsey Marshall) want their children Tyson (Georgie Smith) and Mini (Kacie Anderson) educated. The Cutler's life is stealing, joy riding in stolen cars, taunting the police and when cash is low hitting one of the wealthy houses.

Pointless, dull beyond dull and the touch of sentimentality in the final scene is sadly laughable and calls for a bucket. Why did they bother?
