NOVEMBER AT REGENT STREET CINEMA

Festival fever hits the cinema this month taking in MADE IN PRAGUE FESTIVAL (10th to 18th Nov), RUSSIAN FILM WEEK (20th to 24th Nov), KOREAN FILM FESTIVAL (2nd to 8th Nov), UK JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL (25th – 26th Nov) and IRISH FILM FESTIVAL (1st – 3rd Dec) all bringing a unique world-view to the screen. REVOLUTION - NEW ART FOR A NEW WORLD - BBC FOUR MONDAY 6TH NOVEMBER

Filmed in Moscow, St Petersburg and London, Margy Kinmonth's documentary to be seen on BBC4 on Monday 6th November examines the influence of Russian avant-garde. Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky, Kazimir Maleevich and others whose innovative works offered a new approach to a new world, was to be short lived after 15 years when they were silenced by Stalin's Socialist Realism.

Netflix confirmed the addition of Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man, Boardwalk Empire), Douglas Booth (Living Vincent, Mary Shelley), Freya Mavor (The Sense of An Ending), Nikolai Kinski (Yves Saint Laurent), and Oscar nominee Griffin Dunne (Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold, War Machine) to the cast of Gore.

LONDON EAST ASIA FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2017 PROGRAMME LONDON, 19TH-29TH OCTOBER

Hwang Dong-hyuk’s historical drama The Fortress (2017), receives its international premiere at Odeon Leicester Square as the opening first of this year’s London East Asia Film Festival (LEAFF) It will close with Takeshi Kitano’s latest yakuza film that completes the Outrage trilogy, Outrage Coda (2017). The festival runs 11 days from 19th to 29th October.
