OPEN PALM FILMS ANNOUNCES FOUR PICTURE PRODUCTION SLATE FOR 2017 INCLUDING SIMON AMSTELL’S NEW FILM

Film production company Open Palm Films, led by the former Artistic Director of the Globe Dominic Dromgoole, announces four fully financed UK film productions. Open Palm’s first film MAKING NOISE QUIETLY, directed by Dromgoole, has had successful industry screenings and is currently being submitted to international festivals.

SUNNYMARCH AND STUDIOCANAL ACQUIRE FILM RIGHTS TO MATT HAIG’S HOTLY ANTICIPATED NEW NOVEL ‘HOW TO STOP TIME,’ OSCAR & BAFTA NOMINATED BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH ATTACHED TO STAR, STUDIOCANAL TO FULLY FINANCE.

SunnyMarch and STUDIOCANAL have preempted the film rights to Matt Haig’s forthcoming novel, HOW TO STOP TIME.

Oscar and BAFTA nominated actor Benedict Cumberbatch (THE IMITATION GAME, DOCTOR STRANGE) is attached to play the lead role and will Executive Produce through his SunnyMarch production company alongside Jamie Byng, CEO of Canongate Books. Canongate is publishing HOW TO STOP TIME in July 2017.

STUDIOCANAL is fully financing and will distribute in their territories, UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, and will be handling international sales.

AARDMAN and STUDIOCANAL today announce that Maisie Williams (‘Game of Thrones’) has been cast in Nick Park’s highly anticipated new prehistoric comedy adventure, EARLY MAN. Maisie joins the cast voicing Goona, the gallant and indomitable rebel who befriends the film’s hero Dug (Eddie Redmayne), and helps steer him through the clash of the Stone Age and Bronze Age civilisations.
